Qualification: grade 12 or below and under 19.5 years of age on the day of the competition.
Range: AMC12 covers all high school mathematics, including trigonometry, advanced algebra and advanced algebra, but not calculus. It mainly includes advanced plane geometry and solid geometry, advanced algebra, combinatorial counting, comprehensive number theory, complex numbers, logarithms and logarithmic functions, polynomials, etc.
Question type: 25 multiple choice questions, and each question has only one correct answer.
Test time: 75 minutes.
Scoring criteria: Full Score of 150 points, 6 points for correct answer, 1.5 points for failure to answer, 0 point for wrong answer.
Activity time: November of each year.

Description about Version A/Version B:
Both the A and the B versions of the AMC 10 and the AMC 12 have the same number of questions, the same scoring, and the same rules for administration. The only differences are the competition dates and that each version has a distinct set of questions, although the two examinations are designed to be equal in difficulty and distribution of topics.
